Concurrent Session - Training and Trouble Shooting: Ignition Systems and Fundamentals of Electricity and Gas
Course 1: Gas Fundamentals – (1 hour) 9:30 am - 10:30am
Description: The primary focus of this module is to provide attendees with the fundamental concepts of the principles of combustion, the properties of gas, and how to work safely and effectively with the differences in the 2 primary gas types (natural gas and liquid propane) used in Hearth Products. The session will also cover how to accurately perform a Gas Hearth Pressure Test (Inlet & Outlet) via video demonstration.
Course 2: Electrical Fundamentals (1 hour) 11:00 - 12:00 pm
Description: The primary focus of this module is to provide attendees with the background and theory of basic electricity. This session will cover electrical circuits, characteristics of electrical current, and cover the practical applications of measuring and testing equipment as well as the types of tests a technician must be able to safely perform when testing a Napoleon hearth appliance.
Course 3: Electronic Ignition Systems Training & Troubleshooting (2 hours) 12:45 - 2:45 pm
Description: The primary focus of this module is to provide attendees with an overview of the Dexen and SIT Electronic Ignition Systems currently used by many Manufactures and provide basic troubleshooting tactics for a technician to use in the field. Components used within the systems will be identified for the participants and we will cover the process flow for common test parameters a technician must perform in the field to get accurate readings that will be used by the Customer Solutions Support team.
